Venmo App Design

Venmo’s App Design Takes The Hassle Out Of Paying Friends Back

If you haven’t tried Venmo, you’re seriously behind the times.

It used to be that paying people back was a hassle if you didn’t have cash on hand at the moment.

Bank transfers are often only available between members of the same bank, and even remembering to schedule one in the first place is a major hurdle.

All that changed when Venmo came onto the scene. Venmo is the original payments app that allows users to send and receive money from friends and family -- for free.

Venmo users must link a bank account, credit card, or debit card to the app in order to begin making payments.

Payments made through Venmo are charged or debited directly from the from/to the linked account.

When the user receives a payment, she can either choose to leave the money in her Venmo account for use to make payments later, or she can transfer it out of the app and into her bank account.

This easy-to-use app changed the way we as a society go about making purchases and paying back debts.

Just recently, food delivery service Seamless adopted Venmo as a payment option. There’s no doubt the impact Venmo has made — and it’s likely it’s not going away anytime soon.

But it’s not just the ingenious idea that makes Venmo so popular — its app design is extremely intuitive and clean, taking the confusion and worry out of making payments online. In just a few clicks, you can pay for that movie ticket your friend bought or the dinner you forgot to bring your wallet to.
