Real Self is a platform that allows users to browse and explore cosmetic treatments for face, body, teeth, and hair. Through provider profiles, user reviews, and candid community discussions about different treatments, the Real Self app helps take the guesswork out of navigating cosmetic treatments and surgeries.
Upon logging in the Real Self platform prompts users to select areas of interest -- there are hundreds of different treatment areas to choose from and users can select as many different treatments as they like. Once selections have been made, the app uses the information received to personalize the browsing experience to the user’s interests by populating a feed with nearby providers of the services they’ve selected, and by featuring reviews from other users who have had the treatment or surgery.
The Real Self app allows users to search for doctors in the area who perform services they’re interested in. Doctors have reviews provided by community members, so users can feel more confident about the provider they choose. Community members can also include before and after photos so users of the platform can evaluate the results that other patients have seen. Users can also book a consultation with a provider through the app.
The design of the real self app puts the emphasis on user content and reviews, as opposed to attention-grabbing aesthetics. The app’s palette is mostly grey and white, with a muted blue accent color. This allows the content populated in the app to really speak for itself.
